Discord Community Guidelines

Online safety is our priority on the Manchester Craftsmen Guild Youth Discord Server. All content is moderated by the teaching staff and any offensive, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content is not tolerated on our server. Help us keep our online community safe by remembering the core tenants of the MCG Honor Code!

What is Discord?

Discord is an online social platform where users can use text, voice, or video to communicate with one another. At MCG, we use Discord as a space for students to share artwork, post announcements about class, and as a general hang-out place for students to stay connected outside of class.

Our Discord server is moderated by the teaching staff at MCG and we hold the same expectations for conduct on the server as we do in our classrooms.

For any questions or concerns, please email Ashley Kenawell (the Digital Teaching Artist) at: akenawell@manchesterbidwell.org

Server Rules

  1. Follow the Honor Code. Every interaction in the server is a chance to shape, listen, respect, embrace, and influence one another in a positive way.

  2. No swearing! Offensive language can escalate a conversation into a fight before you even realize it's happening, causing unintended hurt feelings. To avoid miscommunications, please use respectful language in the server.
  3. Avoid offensive or violent rhetoric. Threats against others or yourself, even when made in jest, can lead to an unsafe environment for everyone. Additionally, sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited.
  4. Don't be self-deprecating! Respecting others has to start with respect for yourself. While it is important to be accepting of others, it is also important to be patient with yourself.
  5. Your voice matters. We all have a responsibility to speak up when we see another student bullied or harassed. Your voice matters, so use it to ensure that everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected.
